May 4th - 2013 NYC BIKE RIDE
MAP ROUTE - http://mapq.st/VFcnxb
Those coming from New Jersy, we will be meeting at Port Imperial, in Weehawken, NJ to take the ferry across to midtown 39th st pier at 11:00 a.m.
We will arrive in NYC by 11:30 and ride to the meeting point in front of the Jacob Javitz Center, the corner of 11th Ave. and W. 34th St.
physical address for GPS is 407 11th Ave. New York, NY 10001 which is point B on MapQuest map provided above.
We will start our ride at 12:00 noon

FERRY INFO from Port Imperial, Weehawken, NJ to Midtown/39th Street Pier, New York, NY.
Adult ticket is $9.00 (one way) and Bike charge is $1.25 (one way)
Be prepared! ALSO I'd bring some drinks and snacks, as NYC prices can be a bit ridiculous!

hmm can't wait. I can meet at the 39th street pier, like I did last year since I'm just taking the train to the city. I'm up for riding in the small group after to around midnight, especially if it isn't raining or 100F.

First route was a little over 14 miles and a few people said it was to long, after central park, it went East towards the United Nations HQ, and then down towards South St Seaport, coming back up pass ing by World trade, NYU, and a bunch of other small parks. I'm down to keep riding afterwards.

I was thinking the route was just .. pretty much all you said, and .. riding down to Battery park. which would of been 20 or something, miles if so. lol

on the FallRiver , Beantown rides we usually do between 15 & 23 miles or so,with numerous stunts on the way.always looking for obstacles along the way.eager to get out there again and ripp.

14 miles when you are in good company or in interesting surroundings goes by unnoticed. I biked 12 miles alone in NYC and even that was easy, and I had not ridden my BMX bike in over 10 years when I did it.
