....ROOKIE post MCS BUILD....
LOTS OF PIX if you like magazines then you will like this picture post ![]()
This all started from my knees hurting after a kick ass ride to Isla Vista , California From Down town Santa Barbara (10miles). I built a ELF 24" and loved the quick response and air time I could get but Damn! My knees always seem to bug me so I parted ways with the 24" and used the funds to purchase locally 1st an MCS Magna Cruise
No sticker set on this 1 and well ridin here in SB fo sho. I had seen this bike in a local bike show not long before and was star struck . Just seemed like a real cool trick bike that was a little different then the rest of the cruisers but for sure was NO slouch ride.! I had started gathering parts that I wanted to have. I went to Mock it up one day and found out right away there was a stuch post down in the seat tube .
http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=468623
you read that then you understand the struggle .
After removal that frame and fork were sold off to another state and I lost Momentum... for a bit .
then thanx to the museum I was able to purchase another and it has decals Original !! like there is any other repop mcs magna decals out there anyway Ahahahhahah Yay right !!!
so stoked on this thanx (esp)
So I kept on collecting pieces

You all know how this goes . Most of what I buy either just doesnt fit or looks a little bit off SO I sell it off
Still so much fun along the way. found rare and expensive parts $$$

Finally after months of loosing Ebay battles for cruiser bars that I had NO idea were so sought after by ALL . some custom mades POP up here and I have no paypal $$$ left . well thank goodness for friends and BMX cause a Homie from right here in SBhad the money and new I was good for it . He bought them for me (thanx MAX) and I have sense paid in full.

Ya Im an idiot ... but I am a happy idiot ![]()
Scored a Original 6 shooter MCS stem from Florida last month and will go nicely with this set of bars . and ofcourse there is a broken bolt and the hardware dont match .
But I can fix that with my weekly trip to Specialty Tool here in town. ^3 long 2 short and 1 even shorter .
problem solved . AFter a quick hook up from (BOOGER) even have the matching decal now .
READY FOR MOCK BUILD to find problems once again ![]()

finding out these are real sloppy/alot of play ![]()

Wheels 1.75 rim
Hatta

after today I broke it all down and am going to take to a shop that will clean and preserve the inside of this frame and forx . There is no way I want the rust Monster to cruise my way and still waiting for a nice set of blue mx 1000 rears to POP up here.
please let me know what you think of the story so far. Thanx for your time

Re: ....ROOKIE post MCS BUILD....
Looks great. There are a lot of great tips in the restoration threads on how to remove and then prevent rust/oxidation on or in the bike.
here's one: http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=230386
The restoration section is a great resource for those getting back in or for just doing that repair you never had to do BITD. It is the back bone of the BMXMUSEUM. ![]()

Re: ....ROOKIE post MCS BUILD....
Check these Crupi peds out !! ended up getting 3 different sets to piece all these goods together
never knew blue cages were so hard to come by until I started that search (re ano) cages on these real nice job too. Ti shafts from another set and finally the pedal bodies with no PIN holes in killer shape from a third set.

Snapped up the crank Keeper in Blue as well recently from my Bro. who always seems to have the coolest things .
cheers

You would think there would be a ton of them down here but the truth is there were not all that many made, so they are hard to find anywhere.
Beautiful build so far.

Re: ....ROOKIE post MCS BUILD....
Appreciate all the kind PM's and posts fellas
----- Now who has a rear BLUE mx1000 for this ?----
THE play/slop in the old 80's 3 bolt system was Way to much for my taste in a rider so I managed to snag a New Black BB made by Bullseye . Sure hope it rides all right considering its $25 more than the profile SS BB that is supposedly do the same job . Grips have been located in SO CAL .5 oakley blacks should do the trick . ![]()
more updated pix coming soon as requested .
OAKLEY .5 set showed up today and lucky they did ,Check out the HOLE that was in the package when i pulled out of the mail slot. The guy in SOCAL I got these from was smart and taped them to eachother with a seperate note with my address on there . I feel LUCKY to have recieved these and at a killer price I think ![]()

Oakley .5 are my favourites and I've been buying the cheaper yellow ones and using them on my riders. They really are great grips.
Hurry up and get that MCS built already. I want to see it complete. ![]()
