Rob, I get the knock off part, but would imported be a truly valid argument? Aren't a good amount of (maybe even a majority) old school frames and parts Taiwanese and/or Japanese?
I'm still not hip to why it seems like everyone on here has so much bad blood for the chop either, is there a reason? It can't be too serious, cause i see dudes bashing the hell out of him then turn around and finish their bikes with his crap ![]()

Re: Pork Chop **Quality? Or No?**
Not all of it is imported. The chainrings and stems are made in the US, the things he actually get produced. Dia-Compe and Viscount creates their own products and I believe they never went out of business. Imported yes, knock-off, not so sure. Maybe Dia-Compe or Viscount is ripping off their own designs ![]()

I have had no problems with the quality of their parts.
Especially the "pork" branded items.
Perfect for a retro build, if you ask me.
People can hate all they want, if you don't like the product or what he does, vote with your wallet.
I personally have had no issues.

I think the DUro tires he offers as well as the chainrings ad power discs are top notch! The chain rings and disc s are USA made, great for riders/klunkers ect. He ships really quick and if you sniff around you can get super discounts. Now Mods, delete this topic?

Re: Pork Chop **Quality? Or No?**
Porkchop has a line of new pork stems that look pretty nice and made in the USA. Also they are selling new diacompe anodized 3 piece crank sets that look pretty cool.
I have ordered some things from chop...ie: brakes, cables, pad sets, chains, decals....smooth transactions w/ no issues.
I have no problem with the chop.

Everyone gets an opinion. This guy thinks if it wasn't built before 1985 it is junk. To say it is all imported shows you don't even have a clue what he sells.
His stuff is fine if your building a BMX bike to ride. If your building a show bike or era correct then you may want to look elsewhere.
As to why everyone hates..Well there are are probably more than a few reasons, some may even be valid, but I think most of it is just because the niche market he provides parts for isn't what they want to use on their bikes. They build themselves up by tearing him down. Sad that grown men act like this, but it's pretty common in the "Hobby" of BMX and not as common in the "Sport" of BMX.

I had another look just now at their pork stems, and they look very similar to the square tufnek stems for a reasonable price.

I was looking at the chainrings and spiders, they say they are "Made in the USA". Look like they are quality machined product. I haven't purchased anything from Pork yet, so that is why I asked. My apologies to the MODS for the re-post. ![]()

I have ordered chain rings, Flite Pads, headsets, tensioners, number plates, a seat, and grips from Pork Chop. Never had a problem; always fast shipping, and decent prices.

Re: Pork Chop **Quality? Or No?**
I've ordered from Justin and used his parts. No quality problems here. His
chainrings are made in the USA, and work great. I used a seatpost clamp,
chainring, tires, seat, grips, brake levers, seatpost, pedals, cables, etc.
The parts worked great.
All that being said, most of those parts are no longer on my bike. I eventually
replaced much of the Pork with non repop stuff.

Re: Pork Chop **Quality? Or No?**
everything I've ever purchased from his has been great.. .except for the Duro tires. Way too soft of a rubber. I wore out a set of the Comp ST style tires in like a month. Bald and flat spots all over and the rubber seems like it just wants to crumble.
But I think Justin does the BMX community a great service.
Porkchop, Dans Comp, FlatlandFuel.... I think they are all great.
