1983 Tioga Rhino Charge
1983 Tioga Rhino Charge
Tioga Rhino Charge. The one with no gusset in the Rhino line up.
Tioga Rhino Charge made by Tange has the unique tapered tubing and aero rear chain stays. 19.5 TT this a long and lightweight frame. This Frame and fork have been through three make overs and finally got it to where I was happy with it.The Tioga Maxflo forks are just like Tange ARX but with a better designed drop out.
Built with a Tioga/ Tange/ Shimano theme which were avaliable in the Tioga catalog from 1983. The only difference being the rare Vitus Alloy roller bearing head set, The shogun II seat (which will be replaced when a Kashimax blue comes avaliable) and the Powerlite Pro Bars. I did have the Tioga stamped bars but felt cramped with the sweep back.
Details;Frame - Tioga Rhino Charge Fork - Max Flo Aero fork (made by tange)H/Bars - Powerlite Pro bars with power curveHead Set - Tange Lock Nut, Vitus head set (tapered roller bearing, alloy cups)Stem - Tioga Aero stem (made by Nitto)Grips - Tange whiteBrakes - Shimano DX lever, cable, cable holders, Tourney CaliperSeat - Shot Gun II Seat Post - Shimano DXSeat Clamp - Tange SC1Cranks - Tioga Task Force / Tioga sealed Bearing, Tioga spider, Sugino chain wheel. Pedals - Shimano DXWheels/hubs/ tyres - Ukia 1.5, Shimano DX, Tioga Comp III repoPad Set - Shimano
Enjoy.

Since your from Canada, You should look for a Norco Team frame, as they're very similar.
The task force cranks are triangular shape. A lot stronger design. I've also seen Kuwahara stamped ones as well.

It is also known in Canada as the Norco Starfire, which is one of my grails. There is one for sale currently, but slightly out of my price range for now. http://bmxmuseum.com/forsale/68875#.URAqEFovnyc

Re: 1983 Tioga Rhino Charge
Very nice WezTon but your fork decals are upside down. I've moved this frame and fork set on to a happy new owner, and now have a new project on the go.
Also Did you know max-flo used SR tubro x/ hollow cranks in the max-flo range??
