1982 S&S Works Replica

Unique one of a kind, they simply do not get any better then these.

I fell in love with the ad for this bike in a 1981 BMX Action, as an 11year old I had never seen one in the flesh, it has taken me 31yrs to make my dream a reality and it has been well worth the wait. This Frame n fork still has the original unrestored Chrome & the forks still carry their original black plugs under the legs, not a single dent or dropout washer mark seen, without a doubt the very best example I have ever seen, only seen 2 so thats an easy statement.. Enjoy....
Instead of going for the Catalogue Build I wanted to create a bike that took us straight back to the pits as a kid, nothing fancy, just pure hardcore race..

Frame n Forks - S&S Works Replica.
Stem - Pro Neck.
Bars - Star Bars.
Grips - Uni Grenades.
Cranks - Original Cook Bros Dog Bones.
BB - VDC 3 Bolt.
Pedals - Suntour Sealed.
Brakes - MX1000 with DC Lever.
Pads - original Mathauser Finned.
Clamp n Post - Addicks 2pce with Nitto Post.
Seat - Kashimax MX.
Wheels - Campagnolo with Araya Rims.
Tyres - IRC ZIIIs.

Nice clean and simple race bike...great job! The Cook cranks and radial laced front wheel are nice touches.

Very neat bike, who has some ore info on S&S for us?
found this pic..http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr212/Volcanobmx/SS-Works-2.jpg

Wonder what extra bar was designed to do, more torsional stiffness? thanks for listing it!

Re: 1982 S&S Works Replica

Killer bike bro.

I have these bars that are supposed to be S&S bars.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w211/macr0w/Mongoose/1979Mongoose064.jpg

They are kind of like GT bars but the placement of the cross bar is different.

S&S is kind of a cool old mystery.

No one really knows much about them.

I exchanged a few emails with Pistol Pete back when I found these bars.

He didn't have much info except to say that they made frames, forks and handlebars. lol

Love your S&S.

Too Sick. cool
