Cook Bros Cruiser Pick Up 1-29-2013
Bought this today. It was no steal. I paid well over 1K. Mongoose bars and forks. Bendix 2 speed kick back rear hub.
Frame has been gusseted. Maybe from factory? Paint looks to be brushed on.

I can not sit still. I have been tested for A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. and have neither. I don't need coffee, I just need a B.M.X. or surfboard to consistently ride and I'll be happy.

The prior owner looks to have been OCD. The gold and silver wheels match the gold and silver stem, and the gold and silver seatpost/clamp setup. LOL.
Very cool!!
Congrats!

Those gussets could indicate that it's an "Austin Cruzer" model that Jack made a batch of for Lynn Carter's shop of the same name. In any event, a very cool frame -- congrats!

Gussets are different than the Austin Cruzer frames.
I was told this bike came from the Austin Cruzer shop.
The head badge is cool. It is from a Cadilac bicycle from the 30's or 40's

Re: Cook Bros Cruiser Pick Up 1-29-2013
Clarification:
The shop in Austin called Austin Cruzer that was around in the 80's sold a ton of Cook Bros Cruisers. To stop the problem of the cracks developing around the seat tube-stays junction, the shop ordered some frames from Cook Bros with gussets installed during production. I do not know the exact number of frames produced like that.
There are lots and lots of frames, like mine, that were modified after production.
My frame may have been sold out of that shop, but it does not really make it an "Austin Cruzer" frame.
