Made a little video, to both sum up my BMX bike building, and my roots

As of October, found myself laid off, Spent December working from home, and building bikes. My neighbor is a budding film student, and he asked if we could build a bike for his 9 year old son for Christmas, and film it. Well it turned into a 2 month film project, and we not only filmed the bike build, but also dug deeper, to expose my roots, and where it all began. In the 5 minute video on Youtube, it shows us building the bike, which you will see finished in the end. It is adjusted for his 9 year old son, so the seat ended up low. Its also not really a REDLINE, it was just what my friend could afford to build. So it is a FAUX-REDLINE, or a fake, stickered up as so. We also briefly show my Champion 1978 Squareback, as my covveted build. And the last clip in the film, is my neighbor when he was a kid, doing a wheelie on his bike, which looks very similar to the bike we built. Cool, thats what it is intended to bring. Memories, of our past. Our youth. Back when our bikes where our lives. And for me, it still is a big part of who I am. And  when I build bikes, for myself or for others, it helps me share that love, over, and over again. I thought it would be cool to show my fathers influence, over me. And my love of 2 wheels. Because that really was a big part of what got me into racing. And bikes in general.
This short film could have grown into a movie, as we did not even touch, on all the other 2 wheeled adventures I get into. But, this is a great start. Thanks for checking it out!

I think my buddy Eric, the guy who filmed this, came up with that line. After we wrote, and re-wrote lines over and over. I am pretty sure he said that quote, drawing from our collective ideas...Eric also spent his childhood on a BMX bike, and he totally got the vibe, and feeling of what I wanted to get on film. So I think  as a team, we did pretty good sharing our visions. Thanks for your comment, it was a good line for sure...

Excellent heart felt trip back in time to simpler days without the constraints of responsibility and worry. A time when a simple bicycle brought us so much joy and freedom.
