2012 SE So Cal Flyer 24
2012 SE So Cal Flyer 24
Bikes should be ridden, not hidden! This is my metallic gray 2012 So Cal Flyer with 24" black Skyway mags, blue locking Skyway grips and blue, retro dice caps purely for nostalgia purposes.
Such a great cruiser and rides very well. May take this racing one day.

I wonder why they did not integrate the headset?

Sorry, I don't know anything about headsets. Educate me - what is wrong with the headset that comes with the bike and what are the advantages of an integrated headset? Would you recommend switching it out for an integrated headset? Thanks in advance. ![]()

Integrated headsets are on most of the new bikes, using a sealed bearing and I believe the idea is that it is lighter. Its not a big deal, it is just that most of the 2012 bikes have them now thats all. Both are good.

Ah, thanks so much for explaining. :-) Perhaps SE were trying to keep costs low, retain an old school feel to the design, or maybe both?! ![]()

Re: 2012 SE So Cal Flyer 24
Nice sO cal. I have the same bike, but mine has about 1000 miles on it. As for the headsets... I have bikes with both kinds, I have never had any problems with the kind on the so cal flyer and they have been used for years. I did go through a lot of bottom brackets on the so cal. The power wing handlebars are great and got moved to another bike I have been riding lately. The mags look just right on your bike.
