1979 DG 26

ultra rare dg three bar cruiser

i got this bike in a trade several years ago. the parts list is highlighted by the uncut cook brothers cruisers bars, the matthews motocross double clamp stem, cal cruiser seat, dura ace cranks, mitsuboshi silver star tires and ukai speedline rims. this baby doesnt just sit around...it gets a regular workout on the boardwalk. paint and decals are all original and it still has the original dealer decal on the seat tube. oddly enough it came from a local bikeshop...surf and cycle who i raced for in part of 1981. the pics were taken at my not so secret spot in ocean city.
frame and fork: dg
headset: tange
stem: matthews motocross
handlebar: cook brothers cruiser bars
grips: mach
seatclamp: steel
seatpost: strong
seat: cal custom
tires: mitsuboshi silver star
rims: ukai speedline
hubs: shimano coaster rear/steel front
chain: kmc
pedals: mks
crank: dura ace
chainring: pro neck 42t

Re: 1979 DG 26

im gonna have to change that to 1979. the cruiser in the ad is a little different. if you look close it has foward facing dropouts. mine looks close to the wheelie king bike except mine has a downward slat on the chainstay behind the bottombracket. thanks for the comments....i feel very lucky to own this bicycle. if the weather is nice tomorrow i will try to take some better pics.

Some had curved downtubes, others were straight. I believe the bike in that photo was a prototype frame, but I'm not a DG expert...
