My vintage mid eighties GT.Resto project.SHare infos and tech tips.

Ok

time to get  on my first restoration project,I ve got this bike, and ill be pickin it up ,hopefully, this weekend.I need help about the model, which i have an idea, the year, what are the colors that were available back then, etc.I ve checked the C-four site, and they seem to be the reference point in the game,so ,i will probably send the frame to them.Ill post the pics up,then we will discuss about details and all that.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a US made 86 model.
Lots of colors and parts options were available in 1986. Probably more than any other year. My best advice is to read this:

Re: My vintage mid eighties GT.Resto project.SHare infos and tech tips.

They had Power Series cranks in late 1986.... but not on a factory complete bike.
Some of the spare parts you have for it in those pictures are not era correct... neither are several parts installed on the bike. What are your plans/goals for it?

Saron,i sorta knew about th eincorrect parts, but wasnt sure, hence the thread.I want to restor eit, listening to advice and tips from fellow forumists.so i cn do a good job.Once i have all th e parts, ill snap pix,put them up,and ask whats correct and whats not,so i con move forward.ill then consider selling or keeping what iave,to recover part of th emoney and reinvest on the build.

The frame, fork (as far as I can tell), green bars, silver pedals, seat clamp, mallet stem, frame & fork standers (added on accessories), rear brake,  maybe the RX3 levers, GT tires, and the wheels belonged to that bike. Nothing else in your pictures does.

Re: My vintage mid eighties GT.Resto project.SHare infos and tech tips.

Looks like an 85 Gt world tour to me.  the dual cable guides on the fork indicate it.  Check the one that sold on ebay.

Re: My vintage mid eighties GT.Resto project.SHare infos and tech tips.

World tour, pro performer, then permormer.  86 to 87 the world tour became the pro freestyle tour as top model.  Gt also seemed to have
several variations of the models.
