Newbie Introduction

I have been trolling around here for about a year drooling over the bikes and gaining a ton of knowledge big_smile I was turned onto the site by a another member, greg zts, and the addiction began tongue My last bike as a kid was an '85 GT Performer, you know ...cost me a ton, kept it in my room, sold it 3 yrs. later to whomever, etc. I decided to build a 16" bike for my 6 y.o. son's birthday and he loves it!! I really did not document the build but I did take the before and after shots. I first want to thank the members on here for all the helpful hints, techniques, and parts that I have bought big_smile I found this Dyno VFR on the local CL for $20 and took it from there using the colors from my old Performer.

Here's the before.

Here's a few of it finished.http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y436/DYNOWILL/3-5-2012004_zpsd335481d.jpghttp://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y436/DYNOWILL/3-5-2012006_zps5fc4cc20.jpghttp://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y436/DYNOWILL/DYNO2_zpsd738da72.jpghttp://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y436/DYNOWILL/DYNO1_zps02cd18ac.jpg

Since this build, I decided the whole family needed rides so I have been working on those. I will be posting those as well very soon.
Thanks Again,
Mike

UPDATE: I figured my 3 y.o. daughter needed to ride old school like her brother so I picked up a 12" VFR off of CL and built it up. She loves it big_smile
These tiny pits are so awesome!!

Thanks big_smile No, I actually made them myself from scans and printed them on an inkjet. I owe a big thanks to Kelly (wired) who I have not met, but I learned everything from his posts cool!!

Nice job on the decals!  They do not look home made.  Thanks for the props too!

Re: Newbie Introduction

Welcome aboard, nice builds! I've got a few questions, if you don't mind.  Where did you get the pink seat? I need one for my daughter's project. And did you paint them yourself, or powder? If you painted, do you mind sharing the process? They came out great!
