Restored/Recreated number plates - Let's see 'em!

I tried to search but came up with very little in this category. There's got to be tons of folks out there who have either:

Recreated/restored an old plate from their racing days

Recreated/restored an old plate from a favorite rider or

Simply has a nice survivor plate

So let's see 'em!

I just posted about one of mine (recreated using a NOS Zeronine plate and a repro of an old pic of the 1985 GA NBL Championship plate)

Subscribed! This is a great thread idea cool When I was a kid my number plate I had made me feel like a pro. The only thing I raced was time though. Not sure if one exists, but if I can find a pic I'll post!

Here's a couple. Added decals and pin striping tape to both and chrome to one for a custom look.

Re: Restored/Recreated number plates - Let's see 'em!

I kept a few of my old plates I raced bitd.........

I ran this plate for a number of years, I dont know what happened to the matching White one I had that I ran a bit. I'm currently running this on my FA Limo big_smile
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a165/GthePromoter/OLD%20SCHOOL%20BMX/IMG_8417.jpg

Unfortunately this one is beyond restoration after a lot of race abuse and I've been considering buying one to recreate it
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a165/GthePromoter/OLD%20SCHOOL%20BMX/IMG_8418.jpg

NJ State plate I earned
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a165/GthePromoter/OLD%20SCHOOL%20BMX/IMG_4051.jpg

My last plate I raced with in 88/89 that actually got me into trouble w the NBL since at some tracks the scorers said they couldn't read it???  My friend says he has my 1988 NJ State Expert  Zeronine plate somewhere and is trying to find it ( I left it at his place way back then)

Re: Restored/Recreated number plates - Let's see 'em!

Is it uncool/poserish to put a plate on a 26" cruiser just for the 'look' of it?

I have two plates that are from the 2000 and 2001 ABA GRANDS. They are made of a really thin material. I never raced bitd and at almost 49 years old I am pretty sure I won't be taking it up any time soon. I was goi g to put one or the other on my 2001 26" alloy quad for the 'look'. I ride my bike but is this gay/poser like to the masses? Just wondering but in the end I will just do it. After some numbers on it I will post a picture too in order to contribute to this thread in a way besides aski g a question?

Now that...the pin striping on the plain white uni plate..is brilliant. I have a plain yellow one that will soon receive the same treatment. Why didn't I think of that??  big_smile

Thanks. I enjoy the creative outlet this provides for the hobby addiction. The material is just a heavy plastic we use for some of our industrial products.
