Does anyone race DiamondBack's anymore?

My daughter and I built an old SilverStreak a couple years ago and she has loved it.  Now she wants to start racing, but the bike is a little small and not really race ready.  We have been looking for new school bikes that she can start racing on and have seen alot of noce bikes.  She would like a newer DiamondBack, but I'm not sure if they even make a decent race bike anymore.  Does anyone have any newer DB's out there?

Re: Does anyone race DiamondBack's anymore?

Diamond Back's Nitrous race bike line are cheap but come with cheap components. I would only recommend them only if you're going race only once in a while, or if you're starting out on a budget. You would be better off getting a used real race bike. Only their top of the line Reactor Pro bike is a true "Race" bike with top notch components, but it only comes "Pro" sized.

Kinda sad really, I always dreamed of owning a DB while growing up in the eighties. Well at least they didn't end up at Walmart/Kmart like Mongoose.

WOW!!

Gorgeous!

She's a stunnah!

A modern day Harry Leary Turbo!

Makes me want to go out and find a Reactor Pro and do the same thing.

Hmmm........

Re: Does anyone race DiamondBack's anymore?

I race a DB Reactor Pro and I love the bike. Only problem is that locally there aren't really any shops that carry them anymore. Same even for online dealers. I'm sure they're out there, but not around me. I had thought about building a newer one since mine's a 2004 but it's too much hassle to track down a dealer.

I went ahead and bought a DB Reactor frame for my daughter.  I got it from someone on the site and should be getting it tomorrow.

DB is now revitalizing the race program.  So you might see  more of them.
