BMX's Fiscal Cliff
Suppose some sort of notice went out stating that on a specific day, all BMX-related items would reach their peak monetary value, and on the following day would practically be worthless with no hope of value increase. What would you do?

Nothing.
Keep what I got and be happy bout it.
Even if it is worthless....reliving bmx circa 84-88 with my buds is still priceless.
Been buying BMX parts at 25 cents on the dollar since 2010....

Re: BMX's Fiscal Cliff
I have a large collection .....and often times friends and other collectors ask me " what will you do if all the prices drop ?"
My answer is " BUY MORE BMX STUFF !!!"
If you have allot invested and /or you are a true addict ....then when and if prices drop you should take the opportunity to buy up as much as you can .
You can get parts cheap and offset any possible loss by averaging out any price drop across the rage of your collection.
Then maybe you can get some of those items on your wish list finally crossed off .
For me ...if all the prices dropped by 50% tomorrow ...I would go on a huge NOS shopping spree and it would take an act of god to get me to stop.

Re: BMX's Fiscal Cliff
I would rejoice in the fact that money had nothing to do with the simplicity and bliss off simply riding a bike.
I hadn't realized i was past the point of no return until i was past the point of no return.

I like your way of thinking, Don. ![]()
Ahem...Allow me to add that I am completely neutral on this issue, only raising the question to stimulate discussion! ![]()

Re: BMX's Fiscal Cliff
Well, if it was a viable premise, it might be worth discussing.
Or thinking about. Sorry, just not even worth thinking about since it would never happen.
Whenever someone says, "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart," all I hear is, "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart."
