Re: 1983 Team Murray X20R

yeah thats the bike i had. my mother threw it out in the trash. still red about that one. i upgraded to black z-rims,chrome molly spokes, mtx graphite pedals, tange 1 piece cranks, powerlight bars, joe murray locking headset, zinc rustproof chain, i put a live to ride/ ride to live eagle sticker over the front murray sticker it fit perfectly over the original sticker, took all the other stickers off, black and white checkered pads, a black fluted aluminum seatpost, black aluminum flywheel, comp III tires, shimano freewheel. all that lightened it up quite a bit.
i'd like to have that bike back again.
i bought it at a childrens palace in akron, ohio.

those pedals arn't original, i bet you have the originals stashed away
i'd buy that one from you, keep that in mind.

Man that brings back memories I had the same year. I beat the hell out of it. It has been buried in the ground for at least 20 years now:lol:

Re: 1983 Team Murray X20R

Funny thing, I was over my parent’s house this weekend.  My father, my son, and I decided to look in the shed to check out some of the old bikes I had.  Guess what we found, you guessed it a 1983 Team Murray X20R.  I figured I might pull it out and clean it up.  Before I spent the time on it I figured I would check here to see if there was any interest in the relic.

Since at least one or two people are interested I guess I will take the time and clean it up a bit.

Yeah, definitely clean it up and post up some pics.  Always good to see some Murrays.

Re: 1983 Team Murray X20R

Hi I just scored a Team Murray from Goodwill for $20. It's look very similar to this year. Down the seat tube on yours have the "official product of the 1984 Olympics" on it?

Here's a link to my post with pics of my find:

Any help would be appreciated!
