No sir. It is a cool bike but that is what I DIDN'T want my parents to buy for me and I would not have bought that with my paper route money either. Very cool bike though!

Never liked any Schwinn, did not care for Mongoose or Diamond Back either. First Huffy I liked was the Stu Thompson until I found out what he actually rode was nothing like what was for sale, so that killed that as well. I learned fairly early on (about 8) that 1st class for me would have to be a Redline. Hutch, Kuwahara, or Torker would be second choices.

OMG,
All you kiddies with caviar tastes at 10 yrs old!!!
After my last huffy was stolen, mom took me to a bike shop and we looked at predators, and i got a 83 Predator Competition.
For my combo birthday & christmas gift.
I was psyched to be in a bike shop instead of kmart!
the bike was loaded:araya 7X, sugino maxy cross, DCmx1000 brakes...more bike than i knew what to do with!
(But...I would've happily taken the one in your pic also)
Sure as time went on, i lusted for a Skywway or Redline, but that was the only BMX bike i had, and it lasted me to 20 yrs old!
Heres my last thought on this topic:
I NEVER wanted a Hutch, and i still wouldnt get one today unless i could buy it for the cash i have in my jeans pocket!

Yes, that was what most kids in the neighborhood had in 1982.
We had a mix of schwinns, redline mxIIs, huffys and murrays.

I wanted one of those so bad. All I had was a Huffy pile of crap that I changed the cranks, brakes, and seat out on. I used to race all the rich kids on their overpriced crap and I would smookes em, ha ha ha. Used to make em so mad they'd start a fight with me and then I'd have to give em a right proper Whoopin, lol

I sold a lot of these when I worked at the Schwinn shop in High School, it was a good entry level bike.

I had a Huffy
Then 81 Mongoose
Then 82 GT PRO ( got stolen )
Ended with a 82 Hutch Pro Racer that my brother traded for a Trick Star when I was away for college.
