1987 Schwinn Yo Scooter

Yo, Yo, Yo!

The "Yo" was Schwinn's base model bmx scooter, It had 12" wheels, fewer components and is the little brother to the larger 14 "Yo Deluxe".

These "Yo" scoots are by far the stoutest of the late 80's scooters, and with a 4130 frame the weight actually isn't an issue. Like Mongoose and their miniscoot series, Schwinn used many of the same parts on the "Yo" scooter series that they were using on their freestyle bikes of the time. The components are all top notch on the "Yo" series including 980 freestyle front breaks and dia-comp center-pull in the rear. Unlike the "Yo Deluxe" the standard "Yo" lacked an ACS Stem and rotor system as well as threaded spinner peg holes in the forks.
Parts not original on this build include NOS Schwinn tires, skyway tuff pads, brake lines, 4 NOS Skyway pegs as well as the addition of a NOS stem and ACS rotor system.

Sounds like you might have had a Team Cycle "Curb Cruiser" or something similar, allot of the off brand scoots were the exact same thing just re-branded. I actually have a blue Curb Cruiser, Its pretty heavy and feels really cheap to ride compared to the name brand models of the era but It looks awesome!
