First time at the track

To night was my first night at the track... Practice went pretty well. When the motos were posted instead of novice I was put into Intermediate due to the fact there was no one my age that was novice....  First race on the first hill I caught air and ate a load of sh*t. Got up anf finished the race. The next race didn't crash but got last(Fourth) place again. Last race I almost got third. Overall it was fun to do except the fact I have a big bruise and a scrape on the  same place.

Well done. Nothing broken.  Keep going back. Find your comfort zone and stick too it no matter what. You'll find it will naturally increase and you'll save ton on parts and medical expenses. Welcome

Re: First time at the track

Keep at it!! But take it easy as this season will be your learning period. Your bike handling skills and fitness will get better as the season goes on but don't rush things. Treat this season like a pre-season training for next season. Have fun and good luck!

Re: First time at the track

Keep at it, bro'.  What I've found is that my ego and my competitiveness often get ahead of my skills, so I need to dial them back to keep the rubber side down (especially when I'm racing out of my class, which is most of the time in local races).  Just have fun, practice and race as often as possible, and improvement and results will come.

The ground also gets harder and the recovery times longer as we age, so don't be ashamed to armor up, either.

Chill, Hank.  I'm blessed.

Re: First time at the track

I hear you, dude. I was right where you are at a year ago. Just keep at it and you'll do fine. I've come a long way in a year and I know that I'm not superman on a bike. Enjoy the heck out of it!

Re: First time at the track

Awesome man. I'm hoping to get back into racing myself this season. It's been 15+ years for me. I went to 2 or 3 practices last year and almost died. Just need to kick the smoking habit.
