Hey, the $279 sale is still on!

The Supercross web store is wrong, when you do the add to cart it charges full price.

I called them and got the last 20.5" green/chrome one for $279 + $50 for the chrome finish.

That's a hell of a deal if you want one, but there aren't many left.

That is a good deal. What does shipping run?

Doing the math (phone order, no invoice yet) I've got $29 unaccounted for, so I assume all or most of that was UPS shipping.

I'm in Texas BTW.

Re: Supercross DTT freestyle frame

Ok, I'm on crack...

Got an invoice by email.  Shipping was $18.32

I guess my math skills just suck? lol

Edit: Nope!  They charged me wrong!

They overcharged me by $10 accidentally but they refunded it back.

Congrats on the purchase.  Thats a great deal and Bill is a great guy to deal with.  He told me a while ago that there were a very few made in 24" but I have never seen one.  That would get my money for sure.

Awesome! I want to see a pic when you get it! I'm thinking about designing some better graphics for them, what do you think? big_smile

Thanks, I'll take pics on Friday if I'm lucky.

I don't really get the hate for the graphics.  They look OK to me, but everyone seems to change them out or want to.

They remind me of 91 Haro Sport graphics on the green one.

My 91 Sport only lasted 2 weeks before I bent it. Lets hope this one is a bit better...

Wow, you're right.  I read the discussion thread on the green bike and those are custom.

That's the only green one I've seen, now I'm a little worried.

The graphics on the white and green one look good! It's the graphics on mine I dont like, I wish it had Extension on the downtube instead of the huge Supercross logo. I tried to get a set of the other graphics and was told they didn't have any.

I think your's looks good as it is with the black rear end and BB, at least in the pic's I've seen.  Supercross is a little big, but other than that.

I also like the red that's similar.

Have you seen a pic of the stock green/chrome?  I haven't seen one other than the one I posted in this thread with custom stickers.

Edit: Finally found one!  I can live with this.

Re: Supercross DTT freestyle frame

Got mine!

Here's my mini out of box review... I wished I had something like this before I ordered, so here you go!

My first impression oddly was that it's dirty.  Not horrible, but excessively dusty. Also it almost looked like part of the BB had rested in a puddle.  Enough I'll need to clean it before assembling, but no damage that I can see, just odd.

I bought this thinking it was a Haro clone.  It's actually more of a Redline/Haro hybrid that takes some of the best of both.

Here is the full frame on a nice soft bed.  I'm paranoid about the paint smile
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0355_zpse09a8522.jpg

It has really beautiful dropouts.  Small, but bid enough for pegs and I like the little touch of machining on the back of them.  Classy.  Also the feet friendly and clean chainstays.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0356_zps36041385.jpg

The weird tip on the chainstays must be a reflection in the camera.  After I saw this pic I had to go look again, but they are nice and round with clean fine welds.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0357_zps6e2ecdcf.jpg

One of the most important views, from the top!

The small holes in the braces are used for mounting the included brake hardware.  One of the two holes in each is threaded.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0358_zps63a9353e.jpg

The weld is only on the top.  This isn't perfect IMHO, but not a deal breaker.  It does concern me that it might crack here, but whether it causes a failure or just a cosmetic problem is yet to be seen.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0371_zps34d8891e.jpg

The rear end is very straightforward, but I think it will be functional and easy on the feet.  I actually sort of like the completely straight tubes.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0368_zps741569af.jpg

There is a pretty cool engraved logo slightly offset to the left on the headtube.  I'm a fan of these engraved headtubes, but they aren't that uncommon on current bikes.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0362_zps303a4e4c.jpg

Here is the BB area.  The welds look nice and if you look closely you can barely tell that the downtube is ovalized like an RL20 or RL20-II, but smaller in diameter.  I really like the ovalized downtube.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0363_zps0ec4f8c4.jpg

Closer shot of the stock graphics.  Extension 20-II ? That might be a little close for comfort, but hey, I guess they got away with it.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0365_zps7a435b05.jpg

These will quickly get knocked off by my feet.  I'm not sure why manufacturers put stickers here, they will be peeling in two weeks of use.  These will be removed before assembly.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0366_zps8a945e39.jpg

Here is where the removable brake mounts go.  They look better in person, they look lumpy here.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii487/perkins9000/Supercross/IMG_0367_zps461618b4.jpg

There are a couple of places where the top layer of paint seems a little thin, such as the center of the top tube braces and the underside of the top tubes at the headtube.

I'm not sure it will be a long term problem, but it looks like maybe the green top coat was mixed too thin.  The headtube junction is just plain hard to paint evenly, but it's nothing most people will ever notice.

Now to put it together!

I was just going to ask that question about the weight smile and as I was typing my initial question, you posted it.

I've been heavily considering picking one of these frames up after this thread was made. I'm even closer now. I'd like one of the Chrome 20.5TT models, but I'm guessing they are out of them since it isn't listed on their site.

That frame is beautiful!

I thought you said you didn't like the short rear chainstay frames though?

Re: Supercross DTT freestyle frame

I would take that weight with a grain of salt, my digital scale isn't the most trustworthy, but it's certainly in the ballpark.  I measured it 6-8 times.  I saw anywhere from 4lbs 15oz to 5lbs 2oz.  This looked common so I went with it.

I'd call, they may have chrome or maybe white with chrome.  Hell, even the price isn't accurate wink The green one in the museum is stripped now, so that proves it's safe to strip.

Thanks!

I don't, but I think there's enough adjustment for me to be OK with it.

I'm running my Trickstar slammed, so about 14".  This one extended out should be around 14".

Thanks for the info and the mini review. cool I'll give them a shout come next week. I'm hoping they have something/chrome in 20.5 besides the green/chrome. Anything else would seem a little big to me. I may even be able to get away with a 20.75, its only a quarter inch LOL. lol

I've been finding that all these new school flat-only frames are just too damn small for me. This seems to fit the bill nicely and would work great for flat and rides.

That frame looks great. Good luck with it! Looking forward to see it completed and hear how it rides.

Re: Supercross DTT freestyle frame

Oh, one more thing that was nice.

They included the brake hardware!

I have to say S&M pissed me off on this.  When I spend $400 on a frame, they could include the $10 retail brake hardware.

Supercross did and I appreciate the thought.
