School me on S&M Holmes differences please.
Hey guys, I have 2 of these sweet frames, they appear to be around the same age (I'm guessing around 94) They are threaded headset models with 990 mounts on the chainstays. Any way to pinpoint age through serials?
The only real difference I see in these 2 is the brake bridge. I tried to look up this info in some S&M threads but it got old rifling through 96 pages of text.
The serials are HXL6396 & HXL5382
I will post up a few pics in a few minutes.

that's correct but mine is 1 inch, they offered both in the same year?

I believe mine would have been called the "Oversized" model. My Holmes is the one in my avatar, but has been stripped and is about to get a little attention.

Yes. I hated stripping the paint, but it was pulling away from the chain stay. I plan to remove the rust and may fix a few grind marks before repainting. It is an odd one because the only surviving decals are the face style similar to the new 22" Holmes. Works for me as I have had these for over a year:

white decal one is early 95, red decal one is late 95 or maybe even 96.

I could use a little help too please. I have a red, 1 1/8", same brake bridge as unfit's white decaled Holmes and same white decals. I believe when I bought it I was told it's a 95 oversized but I think maybe 96. Thanks in advance!

The green, now raw and rusty one I posted is a 95 oversized. Same brake bridge.
