BMX Museum,

I purchased a relatively large collection of mid-school BMX Plus! magazines from between 1993 and 2002 a few months ago (I have a total of 95 mags). Since these older magazines are very helpful when building an era correct mid-school ride, I've decided to scan my mags so that all of you can benefit . I also want to preserve this information for future mid-schoolers and BMX enthusiasts, so in order to scan all of my mags (and keep myself sane), over the next two years, I plan on scanning only one magazine per week. And to make this process a bit more interactive, I'm going to let you request the mags you want me to scan first . Here are the rules:

Read this first post carefully,
Do research (see below) before requesting a magazine that you'd like me to scan for you,
I will scan only one (1) magazine per week,
Please, only one (1) magazine scan request per month per BMX Museum member,
I won't scan two magazines in the same month that were published in the same year,
Don't say something like "scan anything from 1998" - instead request a magazine's publish month and year,
First come, first serve,
Please be patient - in two years, all of my mags will be scanned, and all of that info will be at your fingertips ,
All scans will be available to view or download (for free) on my Issuu page ------> http://issuu.com/pharv85/docs
I'm only going to scan these mags - don't ask me to look though my mags and find/scan something specific for you (e.g., a bike review, advertisement, a race picture, etc.). I'll let you check out these mags after I scan them. Just request a month and year, and I'll scan away .
I'll post a new message each week showing what magazines I've scanned and what mags have already been requested for scanning (since I can't modify this fist post).

p.s., I'm too cheap to become a BMX Museum "Pro Member" (at least so far), so I cannot edit any of my posts...

I pick first and make it easy. Start this off with your oldest 93 issue and then we all know its all forward from there.

Just to let you know I'm in the may 2000 doing a bar hop (bmxperts) and in the august 2000 doing a drop to flat. (testing the xs cranks) I broke 12 spokes doing the drop to flat. But a week later at the local skatepark I did a gap off of the spine to a patch of dirt and the cranks exploded! Roller bearings n such went everywhere!

I might have my hand on some Full 02, half 03 & Full 04 and maybe some more Bmx plus mags soon.

After scanning what I thought was my April 1993 BMX Plus! magazine, I realized that I had actually scanned my March 1994 issue (my March '94 mag had an April '93 cover on it - and I actually don't have an April '93 BMX Plus! mag). So, instead of starting with my earliest '93 mag, I've uploaded the March 1994 BMX Plus! magazine to my Issuu page today. This magazine can be accessed and downloaded (for free) here:

For next week, I'll be scanning the July 1993 BMX Plus! magazine (my oldest mag) for Museum member La Dolce. I also have revised my first post, so check there for what other magazines you can request to be scanned!

Lastly, the actual physical dimensions of each page of this BMX Plus! magazine are 8" wide and 10.75" tall. Since this is a little bit smaller than your typical 8.5"x11" sheet of printer paper, I decided to upload each real-size (8"x10.75") JPG magazine scan to a PDF document that has 8.5"x11" dimensions. This has in effect created a small boarder around each scan - do you like this? Or would you rather have no boarder and either PDF documents with dimensions of 8"x10.75" or 8.5"x11"? My reasoning for having the small boarder around each scan is so that if you want to print out the scanned PDF magazine using your home printer, the printed magazine pages will be the same size as the original print magazine pages.

And as you can clearly see, I figured out how to update the first post on this thread . I will regularly update this first post from now on.
