1991.5 Team Haro Air Master Signature Model (Fantasy Build)

1991.5 Team Haro Air Master Signature Model (Fantasy Build)

OK about 6 months ago I was sitting in my garage looking at my 1991 Haro Air Master & a lot of stuff was going through my head, mainly "what if".

I'm guessing this bike probably was the straw that broke Mat Hoffmans / camels back. This is probably one of the main reason's HOFFMAN BIKES was born.

You know it might of went like this-

MATT- "Hey Bob everytime I ride this thing something breaks, the frame, the parts & sometimes me. Build me a 1991.5 Signature model or i'm outa here"

BOB- "Holy shit Matt, what's the problem? What do you want updated?"

MATT- "You better sit down Bob, Sigh!-

Frame- Get rid of those stupid rear dropout pegs before I lose a nut.
Frame- Actually check all the welds & the 4130, come on something is way wrong here.
Frame- Put some inverted AD990's on this puppy, those Boa 6mm pins are too rigid & snap at the bolt.
Frame- I also want dual lower cables & an integrated London mod, man it's 1991 & Gyro cables are dear.
Frame- Make sure the welds at the top tube & are reinforced internally too. I'm sick of forgetting who I am at the bottom of a vert ramp in a pile of broken stuff.

Fork- 1" fork / stem combo please, come on guy's this is way over due.
Fork- DiaTech Hollow Bolt tensioner, keep that stem tight.
Fork- FS990's on the front, same deal as the rear, those Boa 6mm pins are too rigid & snap at the bolt.
Fork- Peg mount hole built in to the central dropout with lock washers to stop the pegs coming loose, do that for the rear too.

Stem- Give it an upward 20 degrees for a bit of height & bolt it straight under the DiaTech Hollow Bolt tensioner.

Paint- Man that Luminous red faded faster than Michael Jackson, change that color. How about Luminous Yellow?

Cranks- Man hook me up with some updated Fusion's. Lose the pinch bolt nut & tap it straight in to the crank arm to stop that squeaking noise everytime I pedal.

Wheels- Peregrine Super Pro's please. I know we are in a recesion but come on guys hook a brother up!

BOB- "OK Matt give me two weeks & i'll see what I can do"

MATT- "Huh? Are you talking to me? Where am I?

LONG PAUSE

MATT- "Hey Bob everytime I ride this thing something breaks, the frame, the parts & sometimes me. Build me a 1991.5 Signature model or i'm outa here"

Special thanks to Jersey Devil for the frame.

TO BE CONTINUED.....

Pic's sooooooooooon!

This is a great idea. I went from this bike to a Condor. My riding was never the same after. Subscribed.
Hey, since you're obviously opposed to the screw in pegs, wanna sell me a set?

This is the first time that's happened again!

I told my doctor I broke my arm in two places...

Ye'h I went from this to the 91 Ground Master then to the Hoffman Condor & I absolutely hated it. Way too long for me & I just wanted the Master back.

Went back to Haro's then a Hoffman Big Daddy.

I am currently riding my other hybrid a 1992 Haro Master Custom (see below)

I absolutely loved my 1991 Air Master (I actually owned 2) so I decided to do a custom. Planning on riding this one, like the 1991 Ground I really loved the geometry of this bike.

As for the pegs, sorry I don't have any, lol.

Yeah the Condor was long. It was a vert bike. I rode it a year or so then got a Taj. Then a STA. Still have the STA.
That Ground Master is badass. Makes me want to ride flat again.

Mate I actually loved it for flat, street, park, ramps & bowls. I really love riding for everything & now again with all the new school mod's too.

nice, I went taj 1inch headtube - condor - sta.

Nice to see how this bike turns out.  that 92 master is real nice.  Never really saw either bike much at all.

I remember wanting nothing but basic ddht frames around this time.

So is that the OG fork to that frame or a later year Haro fork??? I am asking as I have picked up a Haro Sport bashguard that came with the same fork. I was told it was not the OG fork.

It would be 94 on if its got the same dropout. The forks I have here are actually 1996 1" combo's, I had 990 mounts welded on. Pretty rare forks as they only came in 1" for one year before they changed them to 1 1/8".

Awesome (and subscribed!).  I've always loved your bikes and can't wait to see what you do with it.  I did the same thing with a similar one and added 990's.  I kept the 1" stem and large chainwheel to be able to enter it in a build off but I'll be switching to a small sprocket and threadless combo soon.

You didn't stop riding your bike because you got old.  You got old because you stopped riding your bike...
