My Dyno Compe project

this is a dyno compe ive had sitting around for a few years, Ive been cleaning up and restoring some parts for this dyno. Ive got some mags on it at the moment , but they are in bad shape Im going to try to replace the bearings and see what that does, but they spin real rough, Yhe frame fork bars and stem are in great shape. Ive been cleaning up the brakes, which are original to the bike,  I had the seatpost but cant find it at the moment. might have to get one.  also need some tires, havent decided what color,  ive got some yellow gt grips that im thinking of using on it.  I had the og chainring powdered black, it had some rust on it, was black originally also so it looks og, ive got some chrome gt cranks ill be using on it, I believe they are og to the bike.

Re: My Dyno Compe project

im thinking of having this frame and fork powder coated white, and im also thinking of using some 80s compe decals and parts on it.  whats some opinions on this.   Im wanting a 80s dyno anyway,  and I dont really like this color at all.

80s restomod would be very cool! Working on turning a 2000 Zone into an 80s Pro Compe myself cool

Re: My Dyno Compe project

ive got some gt mags on the way for this dyno, and I just scored some dyno pretzel bars , a 80s model fork with the bend in it, and a seatpost, need to find a brake setup and a chainring and wait on everything to get here then it all goes off for powder.  Ive got some blue gt tires im planning on using ,  and im thinking of having the frame and fork white, and maybe the bars blue, or maybe white, and go with a blue stem and blue brakes, not pos yet, still trying to deside.

Re: My Dyno Compe project

heres a pic of some parts I picked up for this dyno, im getting them powdered,  But Ive changed my mind on this build. I was going to have this dyno compe powdercoated and build it with 80s parts,  Im not going to do that, at least not at this time.

Instead of powdercoating this 90s model compe, Im going to be buying a 80s model dyno and using these pretzel bars and drainpipe on it, and Ive got some mags on the way, I also got a chainring and stem,

Re: My Dyno Compe project

You should sell me this Compe.

Other than the 97 Black/Blue/Chrome, this is my favorite Compe.

There's already tons of 80's Compe's on here and 90's Compes "retrostored", so sell me this one so I can build it. Thinking...GT piston stem, and a couple of choice GT mid school parts, and maybe a cheaper 3pc like Subrosas.

Bikes looking for: GT Box Series. 97 GT Pro Freestyle. Hoffman Condor. Mongoose Decade Pro. S&M various. Redline. DK Mid School. Sunday.
