1987 GT Performer 24

87 Performer customized to 24".

Originally purchase a just the frame in September with intent of restoring it.  After searching the web i ran into pictures of the Knight Ind. Proformer 24" (at the time I thought it was a stretched out Performer) I wanted one. My friend Andy encouraged me to stretch one out. Started hitting bike swapmeets for the rest of the parts while i worked on the frame.  When I got the frame done i was going to use a 24" Akisu fork but it didn't look right. Luckily hboost happen to be selling one at the time. Once i received it worked some magic on the fork and the rest is history

Re: 1987 GT Performer 24

This is probably my favorite bike ever!!!

Since I've been back I have gotten numerous positive PM's and comments welcoming me. No hate mail. Interesting considering our society is more inclined to take the time to complain rather than praise. Thanks fellas!

Re: 1987 GT Performer 24

Love it!! im trying to make my 87 dyno detour into a 24inch... any tips how you did this? i saw your other post on this bike how you added a smaller tube inside but i dont inderstand one thing... how did you get the last layer sheet metal in between the inner smaller tube? did you just get a shhet of metal and rolled it around it ? your methods are complex...lol please help im a 22 yr old old school bmx enthuthiast and trying to built a dyno that could had looked if a 24inch dyno was done in the 80s..
