My First Build

Hey guys!  I'm new to the site and so glad I found it.  Several years back I got the itch to restore my '86 GT Pro Performer, so I asked my dad if he still had it and his response was, "oh, I threw it away!" <sigh>  So fast-forward and now I really want to rebuild it and after digging around, the only parts I have original are the seat post clamp and the rear frame standers.  Needless to say, I've got a ways to go!  I just purchased a set of OGK mags from a member...so I'm on my way....

Here's a pic of me back in '87 when I was 10...can't wait to complete the build!

Re: My First Build

poppa wheelie...you HAD to call me out on the k stand, I was hoping no one would catch that lol  Unfortunately with my dad...It was not optional!  I love the green too.  It looks dark in this pic, but in others I have, you can tell it's the GT green.

Re: My First Build

Yeah great pic. I'll have to look around to see what the green looked like originally but the green looks great in the pics!!!
Can't wait to see this happen. There is a wealth of information in the restoration forums!!

Re: My First Build

Cool you have a seat post clamp and frame standers!
Thats 3 times as many parts as I had when I got back into BMX 4 years ago lol. I have about 6 bikes now and almost finished my second build.
Keep us posted, thanks
