MCS Bars
Just getting into BMX's after 25 year lay off.
I've decided to try and buy the bmx's I lusted after as a kid but could never afford
I bought a Torker LP last week from an old pro racer and it had some crusty bars on it but after a oxalic bath and a buff up I noticed they had a MCS sticker on them.
Vaguely remember MCS back in the day, can anyone identify them for me? Are they a good set?

Many thanks
Kris

Re: MCS Bars
Cheers, looking at them I reckon they have been chopped down as they are pretty narrow. They were attached to a 6 bolt Torker stem so I reckon I might have done alright for a change.

Re: MCS Bars
Hi. Approx 26" bar end to end. Looking at the tube ends it has a chamfered edge which is still chromed, so they might not be cut.

Re: MCS Bars
Cool thanks for your help, I thought the chrome was beyond polishing but they have have come quite nicely so they must have been made very well if they were early 80's.

Re: MCS Bars
Cheers. The bars are just over 7 inches from stem bar to x bar with about another 1 inch rise to the handlebar area.
Quite a cool story from the chap I bought it from. He was quite a successfully racer throughout Europe using a Torker. But the frame started to crack near the gusset so he phoned up Torker and told them. They had heard that he was pretty good and through that phonecall got a factory sponsorship from them. 2 weeks later he had a brand Torker LPX, lots of Torker bits and clothing a DX post and these bars. He won several races on in the early to mid 80's on this bike. Which is the bike I bought from him with all the bits. It's all showing a lot of age and wear, but the plan is to just clean it all up replace all the bearings and leave it as he had it. When I can I will upload some pics of it all.
