skyway T/A knock off frame ideas?
Hey guys, I just read the two forums about the incorrect decals on the bikes. I loved the 2 skyway T/A knockoffs made from schwinn predator 24's. Anyone have suggestions for a 20 inch knockoff for a T/A? Kids are wanting one to ride (they are 13 and 15). I am NOT wanting to dump a bunch of money into a real one to be rode hard. I would like to make a chrome replica T/A. I know I know, its blasphemy, but I want to do it. Ideas are needed! Not sure what 80's or 90's frames are closest looking to the actual Skyway frame. Thanks guys!

In the early to mid 80's Norco made an all Tange aero tubed bike. It was called a Starfire.

They're probably more common up here in Canada but I'm pretty sure they have popped up here for sale once in a while.

Yup, same as the Norco Starfire. Made by (or for??) Raleigh with Tange aero tubing for Norco.

You should score an SCS. Total Skyway knock-off.

I built this up for my daughter but she didn't like it. Now it's parted out... I actually thought of stickering it up as a T/A but changed my mind.
I'll sell (or trade) you the f/f if interested. Shoot me a pm.

Re: skyway T/A knock off frame ideas?
I had a chrome huffy pro lightning in 83 that i used to race ( before I got my redline) and I had skyway t/a stickers and black tuffs on it. From 20 feet away it looked like one (insert laughs and insults ) I have a pro lightning f/f hanging up in the basement that needs paint. Might have to paint it white and put skyway decals on it now.

Re: skyway T/A knock off frame ideas?
ALRITE! Almost done with my T/A clone. Scored an 85 SCS off a member here, and added some new parts, and some parts I had laying around. Built for my stepson to roll around town on. Budget build for sure. Need brakes and it's done. This bike is amazing light for a department store bike. Rides pretty good too.

I know knock offs and clones aren't popular, but I like this one! Anyone have one? Or plan to do one?

Re: skyway T/A knock off frame ideas?
Hey Stay Rad, thanks so much for the hook up of F/F! Gave it an OA bath, and she came out pretty good. I left the seat mast SCS sticker there, just as reminder of original pedigree. Got the repop decals from Ed at coloredtuffs.com, and he hooked me up with some extras.
