difference between a performer and pro performer?

ok so i am going to be buying a gt frame and forks soon and the guy is telling me that it is a pro performer but im not sure what the differemce is between the pro and the regular one just by lookin at the frame/forks or bars.
it has no decals, so i was wondering if there was a way to know which one it was by maybe looking at the serial # because i dont want to overpay for a regular performer.
i believe it is a 90 or 91 frame
looks like this one

Be sure that on the standing platform tube is stamped with 4130 for sure. If not, it's not full cro-mo.

+ 10000 on the thread jacking. I have seen you post this bike like 3 or 4 different times today. It is 10000000000000% For sure a extremely low end wal mart bike. everything about it screams Wal mart. It has a kick stand mount welded to the frame. It is complete junk....

Re: difference between a performer and pro performer?

That is a 90 performer made in late 89. They started making them early just like cars...thats why you see 89 in the serial but the 89 frame was the older previous style. I have that same bike. Mine is also dated late 89.
