How can I remove grips from handlebars?
I just upgraded to some new better bars and I want to take off my Ame grips from the old and transfer them over. Anybody know a good way?

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
Spray hair spray in-between the grips and bars and wiggle around. They will pop right off!
You know, pools are perfect for holding water...

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
Another option is to use dishwashing liquid between the bars and grips. I have never had an issue using this method.

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
Slide a tie-wrap, small screwdriver, chopstick, etc between the grip and just a little WD-40 and they will slip right off.
To re-install just spray a little WD-40 on your finger, slide your finger into the grip, and slip the grip on. Within minutes the grips will not move. Been doing this for 30 years and it has never let me down.

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
if you don't have an air compressor, best and cleanest way, I've had some luck with soaking in hot water. Works great for putting them on. Works OK for getting them off. If they've been on there 20 years, the hot water probably won't work.

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
Alcohol.
rubbing alcohol, 99 cents.
squirt it in there and wiggle it, you may need to use a screwdriver to get under the grip.
installation is the same, just wait for it to evaporate.

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
I use a screwdriver to pry up the end and some WD-40 mostly. I have used pretty much all of these options and they all work well

Air compressor is the easiest and fastest way.
Cream on the inside

Windex, soap, hairspray, WD-40, air compressor...take your pick...

Re: How can I remove grips from handlebars?
DO NOT USE HAIRSPRAY LIKE IT WAS SAID!it will make it stick on the inside
i wouldnt use anything metal or hard inbetween , you can damagege or scratch the paint
use some dish soap or wd 40 and do the same to put em back in
