Re: Started the clean up on the GT i saved = )

I cleaned up the bars, and grips. They both cleaned up pretty decent, but the bars appear to have some cracks at the ends of the top bar. sad I Can't tell 100% if the cracks are through the metal or just the paint. The bars are not bent in any way which is a great thing. I just hope the cracks are only through the paint, and not the metal... http://i50.tinypic.com/ezrj1v.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/sqp06h.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/rh769f.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/a2c5c3.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2d6qxpd.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/34e850h.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/am75oy.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/27yn3k.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/orv8jl.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/sawm4z.jpg

If you plan on riding it do not use the bars, It looks like they are rusting from the inside out. I had a set of 401 flights and my drive arm looked the same. Once I took it off I found out that it was rusted from the indside

I looked at the bars very good, and closely with a flashlight, and a magnifying glass. It Looks like the cracks may go all the way through,But  when I look down the holes at the end of the bars where the grips go there is not a single drop of rust..

That's good to hear about the bars . I found an older set of Performer bars for my new GT and had to coat the inside of them with a Rust Inhibitor . cool

I Am pretty sure the bars would be a easy fix for the frame Doc.. Here Are Some pictures of the rest of the bike so far. I have not even began to clean the frame, fork,or wheels, and the frame and forks look Awesome. Once cleaned and polished they will look Amazing... http://i49.tinypic.com/302yjbs.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/20ix7o2.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/348rn04.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2e4xn9t.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/30rmfd4.jpg
