Re: Started the clean up on the GT i saved = )
I cleaned up the bars, and grips. They both cleaned up pretty decent, but the bars appear to have some cracks at the ends of the top bar.
I Can't tell 100% if the cracks are through the metal or just the paint. The bars are not bent in any way which is a great thing. I just hope the cracks are only through the paint, and not the metal...

If you plan on riding it do not use the bars, It looks like they are rusting from the inside out. I had a set of 401 flights and my drive arm looked the same. Once I took it off I found out that it was rusted from the indside

I looked at the bars very good, and closely with a flashlight, and a magnifying glass. It Looks like the cracks may go all the way through,But when I look down the holes at the end of the bars where the grips go there is not a single drop of rust..

That's good to hear about the bars . I found an older set of Performer bars for my new GT and had to coat the inside of them with a Rust Inhibitor . ![]()

I Am pretty sure the bars would be a easy fix for the frame Doc.. Here Are Some pictures of the rest of the bike so far. I have not even began to clean the frame, fork,or wheels, and the frame and forks look Awesome. Once cleaned and polished they will look Amazing...
