Phil Annihilator II Hubs

These just arrived today for my next secret squirrel project. And I can't believe how amazingly nice they are, complete items of beauty. Might have to run these on all my builds from now on, era correct or not.

Anyone else running them? Would love to see what rims you paired them with.

There are 4 different types of all aluminum bodied Phil Wood BMX hubs, including the new Annihilators.

I have 2 sets of 1st gen, 1 set of 4th gen alloy bodied hubs and both are great. The 4th gen are my favourites. I love Phil Wood hubs and after moving from crappy Bullseye's, I find that I really appreciate my Phil Wood hubs. I'll buy a set of Annihilators some day, even thoigh I don't really need them.

Mikestevens, where did you buy them from? Some places are selling them cheaper than others.

Owning both they both have ups and downs. I am happy with both. But I would proably reccomend the phils just very attractive and the bodys are strong and solid.
PHILS
-high quilty body
-much nicer axles although my back one loosened up once
-smooth but the heavy phil grease makes resistance

Bullseye
-lighter
-less resistance (spin longer) but not as smooth
-axle loosens the collar system is kinda week
- 3 piece should be left to cranks not hub bodys or shells

Re: Phil Annihilator II Hubs

Wow!!! Those are Spectacular! Phil makes some incredible products, I'd love to be able to run some on any of my bikes, BUT my first I'm buying a Phil wood spoke cutter threader.

Rim combo, I would build them up with Chrome SUN envys and Blue nipples.

Yes, as far as I can tell those are 3 rd gen (second gen of all aluminum hub body). I think you need to sell those to me.

Re: Phil Annihilator II Hubs

I bought red. I just had them laced to Weinmann As7X's (blk/blk) with DT Swiss Competition spokes and Araya red alloy nipples. Laced in a symetrical pattern.

What is the 'least' expensive place/price that you have found for the Phil A2's?

For some reason, Phil Woods pricing goes Polished<Black anodize<Red Anodize....
