What was your favorite and least favorite colors of redline rl 20 ii's?

Favorite: Cali Red/ hazard yellow a close second.
Least favorite: Mango

never liked Radberry or white , hated kiwi & mango

loved the turquoise, red & yellow

I wonder if there is a color that bumps up an RL's Value. Like resale red on cars.

Cali Red is my fave. White with the blue squares my least fave, although I hate the grey rear ends on the 88s, regardless of main color. I would have loved to see a Kiwi with a chrome rear triangle.

IMO...OG finish hazard yellow I'll trade my fourth unborn child for that bike

551 that is funny. I saved up my money back in the day and when I finally had enough cash they changed it to the grey rear and it killed it for me. What ever bone head thought that would be a good idea was not thinking.

My fav color is the cali red......I think my second fav is the radberry, my least favorite color is Hazard yellow.......the only RL i have in my collection is a 85 Hazard yellow Rl 20 II

Bottom of the list is all gray triangle colors

I always thought the `87 Black to Chrome was the hot set up.

Dude I dig them all mango least but for fav I got top 5, red yellow white turq & radberry then in 88 I think they should of went all solid colors like all grey red blk etc instead of grey tri's on frame. I'm saving up for one now it'll still be awhile b4 I get one.

it is amazing how some grey paint can turn a bike from hot to not but it did.

Yeah, I had an early '85 that was radberry (no chrome) and sold it to get an newer version with the 990 mounts and chrome rear but by that time the only color I could find Down Under was black fade to grey. After about 4 months I had the whole thing chromed.

My favorite is color is radberry but the harrard yellow is a close second and the turquise would be #3. I've never seen a kiwi or mango RL20II in person but both colors seemed washed out when I've seen them in pictures.

Favs Black/chrome, Red, Hazzard yellow. least fav all chrome. My 88 was all chrome and I just dropped it off to the Powdercoaters today.

One reason I am asking is that I am working with my 8th grade bike club on a rl 20 ii project we have a white one but we need to re chrome it, it is an 85, but the white just is not bold enough for this bike so we are trying to figure out what color to powder it when we get the funds. Keep the opinions comming.

If your sticking with original RL22 colors:

1. Cali Red
2. Hazard Yellow
3. Teal or Kiwi...

Since its a bike club...let me know, I'm willing to donate to the powder

They did it to save money. Chroming was expensive. It's a lot cheaper to just paint the whole thing. Haro went that route in 88 as well. 88 was a turning point year. The freestyle scene was at it's apex in 87 and it went downhill from there. Companies had to find ways to save money with the onset of waning sales.

For pure Iconic Redline-ness: Cali Red. That color is just Quintessential Redline, man.

For me, the least Redline-ish color would be the blue/gray 1988. Blue, to me, always said "Haro" not Redline.

Having said that though, a Redline in any color is just plain better than any other bike brand in your favorite color...lol. Very biased opinion (but true).

Thanks for all the opinions, on your favorite color keep them comming. The info about why they changed the rear from chrome to grey is interesting and logical. I think they would have been better off having it one color. I will try and post a picture of our frame before and after and the build the kids are pretty excited about building this one.

I would love to own a yellow.....but I have an 88 Mango show stopper!!
I actually like the Mango...but I do wish the rear was chromed.

I thought about chroming the rear of my 88 a couple of years back but a few folks urged me to leave it alone.
I did not know what I know now.....and I respect the bike for what it is.
