My "Orange Bang" GT

I picked up this late 87 Pro Performer off of the bay a few months ago and have been slowly collecting parts for it.  I will be building this up as a 87 Pro Freestyle Tour, but with a few tweaks here and there.

The frame and fork was raw when I purchased it and I had it powdercoated locally.  A buddy of mine gave me some left over Tiger "Dayglo Orange" powder from one of his projects and it was just enough to do my frame, fork, bars and post.  The color is amazing and really pops in the sun.

No clue on the code. I just know it was made by Tiger.

This particular GT didn't come with the Splatter color scheme.  I believe you're referring to the 92 Dyno Compes and Detours which came with that color scheme and yes it is possible to reproduce the splatter.  A member here has done it and very well.

Everything looks great so far - what are you going to run for rims / tires?

Also digging the RL20II and Sport in the background - plans for them?

I will be rolling with Superlaces wrapped in black/tan Barefeet tires.

The RL and the Sport are waiting for their turn to go into surgery. big_smile  I will building both up later.

I believe you are thinking of the 91 performers like mine and yes you can do the splatter paint. A few members here have done it if you do a search. From what I remember they pretty much used a stick (like a paint mixer) and dipped it in and flicked it on the frame.

OP...Sweet bike! Nice to see the orange rather than the more common pink. Not that I don't like dayglow pink just not the pepto ones as much.

Re: My "Orange Bang" GT

It's been a busy week and I only managed to get a little done.  I polished up the arms and applied fresh decals.  I'm also going with this pretty cool Tech Picture Disc.  I've hoarded it for the longest time and now I finally have a build for it. tongue

I got them off of a member here awhile back.  They do pop up from time to time, but just be prepared to pay a nice amount of coins for them.

Some people go with Primo Powerbites as an alternative since they're more readily available.
