Need a good frame modifier as well as a good painter, any suggestions?
Hello,
I'm currently in the process of buying my very first FBM frame for my son. He loves FBM with a pasion and this frame is a 2004 FBM Capone frame. My son loves the looks of new-school tech but likes the way most older bikes look. He saw one of my old dans comp mags last week and saw the capone and instantly fell in love. When I saw one,I knew I had to order it for my son. Anyway I have 2 questions that I hope some one can help me out.
1) I want all the brake mounts to be removed as my son is very tech on his bike and only rides brakeless and loves the smooth look of brakeless frames?
2) I need a good person who can strip and powdercoat this frame?
Anyone know if anyone from the museum can do both of my questions for this frame? I want to try and get this done for my son for a christmas present soon, thanx in advanced for the help and take care,
-Jon

I would NEVER let my son ride brakeless.

For the brake mounts just cut/grind them with a Dremel. I haven't had anything done by C4 but I have seen some stuff Chip has done and it it top notch work! ![]()

Take a cutoff wheel to the mounts and be careful just cut them a off a little higher so you can grind everything flush. Then your good to go off to powdercoat . Or a local painter. If you need any help i paint motorcycles for a living. Jakescustoms.com

Most riders in there 30s-40s are all franked up now from riding brake less. It should only be done when your at almost or pro level. Smashing into shit and franking your self up when a brake could have saved you knee cap, arm, leg, teeth, skull. You lik paying for medical bills? You also like paying for shoes since you shove your shoe into the wheel to brake? Riding brake less does not mean your hardcore. Clean look? Whatever sounds like bullshit. You can do more tricks with brakes anyways.

I can do pretty much the same tricks brakelesss as most people can do with brakes. BMX is what you make of it. I'm not saying I'm hardcore just cuz Im a brakeless rider. When I was a kid,I could never get my brakes dialed correctly or had the money to get them fixed professionally so I just rode without em' and learned to ride brakeless. But thats just me. As for my son,he rode with brakes all the time but never used them and learned full control.
