Operation Lavender Pickles is under way...
My 9 year old daughter has a beautiful 83 Murray survivor, but wanted a Performer that looks like my green one and my lavender one, so for Christmas she is getting this. I can't spend -800 on a real deal Jr. Performer for her to beat up so, next best thing. I'm using as many quality parts on this as possible, most of the rest of the bike will be lavender, black, and blue. and I hope she likes this. (she is obsessed with pickles and olives),
Hence the "lavander pickles", will update as I complete more of it... Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics...

Awesome. As a kid you either love or hate the pickled stuff. I was and still am an olive junkie.

Re: Operation Lavender Pickles is under way...
I did, drew them up old skool (paper and pencil)
used prismacolor colored pencils, copied them onto avery sticky back paper, and laminated them with clear packing tape. I made stickers using that same method a few years ago, and they held up great. Cutting them with a blade took a bit, but I had fun doing it...

hahaha That's what we give our older daughter for Christmas & birthdays! She will eat cans of that stuff. Pizzas for her are only cheese & black olives. As a kid, she would eat cheese & olive sandwiches at Subway.
We told her that we should have named her Olive or Olivia, and her response "Oh...That's what I will be naming my daughter when I have children."
Great looking frame! She'll be stoked.
Oh...I can't stand olives. ![]()

Re: Operation Lavender Pickles is under way...
Thanks everybody. The only thing I need is the lavender mags I bought and am starting to impatiently wait for (should have had them a while ago)
getting down to the wire. The frame is actually put out by the godfather of skateboarding, Tony Hawk

Re: Operation Lavender Pickles is under way...
Got the bottom bracket installed, Haro Kneesavers, stem and post installed for mock-up. Black soft goods and Lavender mags to come. Found a set of tires very close to comp pools 1.5 Skinwall and all, hoping they fit the mags when I get them, fingers crossed, enjoy... (I know, the cap is not on the stem all the way) ![]()

Re: Operation Lavender Pickles is under way...
OK, got the tires and mags, and DAMN! I hate big clunky tires on a pit, it reminds me of an OCC Stingray chopper, so I got these Primo Comets 16x1.35. They keep the bike more proportional, and look wicked sick... ![]()

Re: Operation Lavender Pickles is under way...
Yeah, I build my bikes to be a piece of art (some might say piece of shit) I Don't care! never been one for factory builds, as kids we all swapped parts- tires, grips, etc. I just get ideas and have to build them to see them...
