Diamond Back survivor clean up

I have had this for over a year time to pay it some appreciation cool Just have plans to clean it up put grips and tires on it . I might put decals on it if i can score some real ones . I am unsure on the model but think only the seat, post and front tire are the only things not stock . I love the DB pedals . Does anybody know how to tell the model it does have the baseball at the end of the serial #. Thought i would share . I will post pics thru out the day . Stay tuned  smile

Stem and pedals are cool.  Throw that seat post into rush hour traffic though.  Clean that thing up and share some progress pics.  Action shots are a plus.

1/8" drops equal a Silver Streak. If they are 1/16 it is a Med. Pro. I believe the first digit of the Sn will give you the year. 2='82 etc.

Nice... I too have a soft spot for an old DB SS - especially the Silver Streaks. http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd20 … 82DBSS.jpg
Assuming the stem is original it is most likely an '83 Silver Streak.

The seat looks to be original.  Trade you some repro decals for the seat.roll

Just meant it looks like it would be a wheelie master since you would be sitting so far back. The seat is almost over the rear axel. Love the Silver Streak though!

+1. That's what I was saying about throwing the post out.  That bike is gonna loop out from under you sitting over the rear axle like that.  Cool bike none the less.  Looks like you are doing a good job of cleaning it up.  Decals should be easy to find.

Re: Diamond Back survivor clean up

one thing i noticed about this frame, when i put the rear wheel in it changed the height of the frame due to the angle of the dropout's . I wonder if this was a trick for seting up a DB for racing ?  IT would for sure change the way it handled . I think i am gonna mesure the height at the bottom bracket just to see the differance .
