Because i can. Flatland bike
I like my old school. So lets get that out of the way first.
$35 score plus a 2hr round trip to get it because i love the frame.
Ross Piranaha 4130 cromo.
I cleaned it up some and freestyled it for a while. I love this bike. Super fun.
So here's the deal. If you know these bikes you know the front end is all raked out like a chopper.
Mentally it screwed with my head plus the bike is short. So i retired it (for now).
I plan to get a lil crazy because i can. I think i am going to cut off the front end - add an inch and caster the head tube back to some better freestyle flatland geometry.
Top tube is 18in. Should i go up an inch or leave it? I am taking advice on top tube length and head angle? Factor in i am 5'8 and 160. Also more of an old school freestyler stlye, i cant ride on my front wheel in a spin for a half hour.

Re: Because i can. Flatland bike
Looks good, love the freestyle version like this one. I would extend the frame if you need too, for a fork with 990 mounts I would look at midschool GT ![]()
Wanted: A cool 80s freestyle stem (SR, Diamondback, whatever), Peregrine Q-II bars - Both in white

I'm interested in seeing how you cut it up reinforce it and weld it. Please post pics. This may open a whole new door of opportunity for me and my frames.

Re: Because i can. Flatland bike
I think anywhere from 18.5 to 19" is ideal for top tube size......head angle if possible try to get to 74.5. See if you can use a new 1 and 1/8" head tube also, that way you have a bunch of new fork choices you can pick from.
And I am also an old school flatland rider too.![]()

Re: Because i can. Flatland bike
or just skip all the bs and get a nice midschool morales or likewise haha. if you're gonna be having fun riding, may as well get the right tool for the job. just my thought.
What's the point of having a bike if you're not going to ride it?
