1986 Privateer
1986 Privateer
Rare 80's Looptail
I originally purchased the frame and fork in 1986 at an indoor BMX winter race in southern Ohio. I raced it the next two summers at Akron Derby Downs. I rode it the next few years almost everyday until I was 16. I parked it in favor of race cars and girls. In 1993 I sold the complete bike to my brother who continued to ride it on and off for the next few years until he parked it. I had a chance to buy the frame and fork back a couple of years ago when my brother need money for a tire for his crotch rocket. I spent a year putting this bike back together to it's current form with first blasting it and adding a fresh powder coat finish to the frame and fork. I then added a mix of mid and old school parts with the intention to put it back to it's glory days of when I raced it. This was the first of my now ever growing collection of 80's and early 90's bikes.

Re: 1986 Privateer
I have been looking for a decal set. I spoke to Rob Lynch through emails two years ago and he thought he had a set in storage and was going to try and hunt them down. I never heard back from him and he passed away last year. If anyone knows of a set available please let me know.
Gumwalls are next on the list and then a set of araya's.
