1996 Profile Rocket

1996 Profile/Rocket/   Rocket built by Alphameq in Brazil

Lack of info on these frames makes it hard to narrow down whats what, thanks to bmxerpete for info I got from him.

Bike #5-6-8? to ride with the dog, god the wife hates me, but she does like the dog so it's ok. Stiff frame like it should be, laced up the wheels and hubs for this bike, I was going to save these hubs. Made me some 40 cal valve caps for it then had to make a few more for the grand kid and a couple kids down the street. I have rode it quite a bit since I got it together.

Had to buy and modify brake studs for this (not in the pics but on it now) it uses 8mm thread studs that are shorter than normal. Just a FYI

Re: 1996 Profile Rocket

I asked a few questions about this frame when I got it looking for info on who made it, Profile or Rocket. In a nut shell Alphameq built these frames for both. From what I found out a Rocket is a Rocket just who's sticker is on it is the real only difference.

The brake studs....it had what looked to be legit bolts holding the brakes on, a 8mm capscrew doesn't even come this length. It really should have studs, 8mm thread, but the threads have to be shortened from a normal stud. It has correct/modified TI brake studs now, took 3 weeks to get them. There wasn't a bike shop within 80 miles that had a 8mm stud that wasn't 2x to long used for a Rock Shock fork.

I'm going to have some "Rocket" stickers made for the down tube just to break up all the shinny

I had the red Flights and a black set, went with red just cuz the wheels had red, but they kinda stand out to much I think.
