mongoose serial number help
Hi all not sure if any one can help me i have got a mongoose bmx , i did buy it for my son but he said he didnt want it then some one said to find out about it so here i am , would any one be able to tell me any thing about it , i have been on all the known web sites looked at loads of pics and tried to see what year it is with the serial number my self but it is so confusing . .
Any help would be great thanks the serial number i got of the bike is HAMMFO3072 the bike has got menace stamped on all parts .
what i would love to no is what year and where it was made as that's what i have been trying to figure out , i will try and get some pics up .

Oops, I meant to say 2002 - 2004. I am basing that off of the lower routed brake cable since later models were routed on the upper side.

hi thanks for your reply , not to make my self look thick but could you explain to me what you mean by , I am basing that off of the lower routed brake cable since later models were routed on the upper side. do you mean where the brakes are situated on the wheel and attached to the frame or are you on about the cable its self . and does the serial number help with the year , i put it in the first post .

What I was refering to is the mounts for the brake cable. If you look into the images of other Mongoose Menace bikes, you will see that the later years have the brake cable mounted to the top tube and earlier models have it mounted to the lower tube. Unfortunetely (for me) the serial number does not help but that is not to say that someone else out therewont have any info on it. I am comfortable with the old school serial numbers but anything this new.
I based my conclusion strictly off of photos in the museum. I hope it helps!

I would go with 2003, but Iam not 100%, so check the Museum Bikes to see if it Matches...
