81 Schwinn Sting
Just about done (no chain)...
Not feeling the red grips. Should I go blue??
Either way it goes....the Sting is mostly complete. My way...

Awesome Sting build! Yeah I agree, blue grips would be better, especially with the blue seat.

Theron- Very nice and too cool. Built just like back in the day, the way you would race it! Blue grips and blue seatpost clamp gets my vote.
Wanted- White Industries Freewhee 19T and 20T, Mongoose Stainless Steel bars for a Moosegoose, and Big Gulp bars- because I think they look goofy enough to cruise with!

Leave the clamp and save that paint ! I would leave the grips and look for a different seat. That aero just doesnt work on that bike and maybe even in red, an elina with a lightning bolt maybe or a early kashi mx would be nice. And yes I know they are expensive but that build looks worthy of a good seat ! Nice job.

I had a black shotgun ii on it...but I felt as if the bike deserved a colorful seat.
I had a nos blue viscount aero on it....and now this seat.
Will see what the seat Gods have in store for this bike... 
That clamp is staying. I would cry if I ruined the candy trying to remove it.

Advan taught me this a while ago. The most important tool for the Sting owners are these reverse pliers. Taking off and putting on the seat post clamps on Stings are a MAJOR hassle. THese keep your frame paint on and the ano from scratching on your seat post clamps. A MUST BUY FOR ALL STING LOVERS!

And yes..that clamp will come off after you spread it out a bit.
And with you get it off....I have a NOS blue one that would look real nice on there.

I think this clamp has been on this f/f since 81. I think I am gonna let it ride.
The grips (possibly seat too) are subject to replacement though.

Absolutely love the Campy on this. there were some black Campy pedals here a while back that would be really cool on this. Not sure if they were for sale or just in a thread. Of course, chrome looks better than black pedals on this ride. Thad BB is making me so jealous! Killer ride. I agree with the grips and seat change, but minor details and neither is a biggie.
