Newbie needing Help Please.....
Hi All
Just a little intro on myself before the questions....
I'm Nigel form the Uk and have just turned 36 and decided to treat myself to a old school bike. I used to ride a Haro Frestyler about 20+ years ago.
I found this on Ebay and decided to go for it as it was quite cheap...
My questions are.....
1. How do I find out if it's real or fake before I spend any money on it. Frame No is...87031545
2. I really want to keep it original so could really do with a list of parts that were on the bike from new. Like what make brakes and crank ect....
3. Does anybody know what the paint colour code is please. As I want to fully restore it.
Can people also post links to other bike restorations please as I'd love to get some ideas.
Here is my basic list I have put together so far.
Frame...............Haro
Forks................Haro
Headset.......?????
Crank..........?????
Pedals.........?????
Bearings.......?????
Wheels.........I want White Skyways Tuf II's
Tyres...........I want blue tyres
Seat Post......Lean Back wanted
Seat............I want a blue seat
Seat Clamp.......Blue ????????
Brake Callipers.....MX Blue????????? Which model do I need
Brake Levers.......MX Blue?????????
Brake Blocks.......Skyway
Brake Cables......
Handle Bars.......
Grips..........I want blue Mushrooms
Stickers.......Original set but which ones and where from.
I'm sure there will be more questions to come so thanks in advance for all your help....
Here's a couple of pics.....

Many many Thanks
Nige

Re: Newbie needing Help Please.....
Thanks mate.
I'm going to get all the parts and build it up first so it might not get painted.
Thanks for the link... So it looks like mine is a 87 bike.
Is mine a sport and not a master is that correct.
Cheers

Re: Newbie needing Help Please.....
It could be an 87 fst/fsx. I believe the 87 sport had 990 stud mounts.

Re: Newbie needing Help Please.....
What does fst/fsx ?
Also 990 stud mounts ?
Sorry for all the questions but now I can afford to do it. I want to get it right.
As for painting it I've just used some paint cleaner on it and there are alot of small chips. Also I think it's been painted already as it has this sticker on it....

Del over @ RadBMX in the UK, redoes artwork/decals. You look like you've bought a refinished frame already, or at least the decals are repros.

Re: Newbie needing Help Please.....
Welcome
I think its repainted already look at the dropouts
990's are the brake mounts found on many bikes for U-brakes.
Where the music stinks, and they water the drinks, at the nudie bar.
Where the girlies dance in their underpants, at the nudie bar.
Where you see their butt, and their trap stays shut, at the nudie bar.
Where you can’t touch a breast, but you can cave in a chest, at the nudie bar.
Where you look at a thigh, and blacken an eye, at the nudie bar.
Where a buck’s enough to see their stuff, at the nudie bar.
Where the breasts may be fake but man do they shake, at the nudie bar.
Where you swear like a sailor, and wish you could nail her, at the nudie bar.

Re: Newbie needing Help Please.....
Take a look at the links.

I dont see '87 models there w specifications.
Your frame n fork have been redone to look like an '85/86 Haro. If you want to make it an '87, you will have to change color to '87 scheme. Build it and ride it. Enjoy and welcome!

Re: Newbie needing Help Please.....
Thanks all for the reply's so far....
I'm quite liking the green colour but would prefer it to be the correct colour for a 87 Haro.
Anybody got any pics of an 87 Haro so I can have a look.
Also can anybody help with a parts list or should I just start picking up parts that I would like to put on the bike.
Thanks again.
