headset shims
i was going to purchase a headset that said it was for road bicycles and bmx bicycles, was not sure if this information was correct upon contacting
its seller, they stated in infact the headset is for a mini bmx frame and they did have shims for it at an extra cost, but not anywhere in their fs section... so anyway
anyone know where to find shims,

Re: headset shims
Why not just use the right part and be done with it?

Re: headset shims
anyway for people who wanted to use shims. i got some shims from canada, they are aluminum ( silver ) on ebay. the size was listed as 1 1/8 " to 1" reducer as i could not find any 32.7mm shims anywhere, so as expected they don't fit. spent maybe 2 hours with a rotary tool to grind down the shim
to fit the head tube. got them in tried to put in cups. wassent going to happen popped out the shims ground out the inside of the cups a bit, put the shims on the cups ( 1st) then into the headtube. they fit very tight. i have a dirtskirt thanks to a memeber here. tried using that and the shimano 600 hp-6207 image :
could not get the lock nut on, or lockring popped out the headset took off the lips to them shims headset back in with dirtskirt, no problems.
thanks.

Re: headset shims
Cool and glad you found some. Porkchop did have some odyssey BMX ones but it seems they are sold out. Those old Shimano 600 headsets are really nice.
