92 or 93 Dyno? and Questions
Can anyone tell me if this is a 1992 or 1993 ? Is the frame supposed to be 100% 4130 ? What size axle pegs are used ? Can I go to larger pegs? I know larger may not be period specific but want to try some flatland and prefer a larger foothold.

Re: 92 or 93 Dyno? and Questions
I haven't purchased it yet. I thought there might be a way to visually tell. Wait, is the deciphering of the SN in the GT SN sticky at the top of this name it section? I'll ask the seller. Thanks.
Edit: Uh, Dyno SN thread sticky of course.

How do I tell the difference? Other than the SN decoding? What can I show the seller to PROVE it's a 1997 ?

Roger that and the decals look like this really nice 1997 example in bikes section:

-decals
-parts
-stamps
If you take the stem out, on the shaft it will say the second 2 digits of the year and if you take the fork out, on the tube of the fork it will say the year BEFORE the bikes year. Example fork says 1996 then it's a 1997 bike. Also the serial number for example Serial Number will be like YC96 or YC97 or YC98, that's the easiest way to tell.

Re: 92 or 93 Dyno? and Questions
When I questioned weather he knew for sure it was a 92 or 93 and included a link to the 1997 catalog that clearly shows the exact same decals the seller said, "Ah youre right! That is definitely the one. My mistake. I must have gotten it in '96 and thought I was younger. Good catch!"
WTF.
But if it's solid and smooth in person is it worth a $100 offer? I guess I could always play the "how do I know there isn't something else you forgot about?" card and offer less. It looks clean and probably not worth the $200 asking price.
Thanks for the help. I'm still learning the ropes around here.

Re: 92 or 93 Dyno? and Questions
I think they were only like $275 or $300 new. dont quote me
Not rare year or model.
I'd wait awhile, and get it for alot less.
It wont sell at that price.

$200 is high,i bought the same bike for $40 and the chrome parts had a little rust and it needed a chain and a back free wheel.
for future referance asking "worth" is frowned apon.
