if it weren't for bad luck...

I'd have no luck at all... what is it about working on these damn hunks of metal that is so flippin frustrating!?!?!

got my shipment from Dans and it has the stem spacers I needed to square away my FBM Angel Of Death...

grab the allen wrenches and the 9/16th for the compression bolt

take the stem off and place the spacers on... stem (round corner redneck) doesnt want to slide all the way down the steer tube leaving a gap of 1/8th of an inch

grab the compression bolt and start tightening it down... get that silly millimeter squared away all the slop outta the headset and spin the bars to make sure it isnt too tight to steer

something goes 'ping' and its all sloppy again... put the front end down and out pours the bearings from the lower bearing race

frank me running!!!!

I quit... mad

tell me something stoopid and frustrating you've done to a recent project to make me feel less like a complete idiot...

I promise not to use it in future blackmail ammo

I swear lol

Re: if it weren't for bad luck...

I ordered a set of those bossless Madera cranks to use on my son's 18" Fit. I never ever thought that the spindle would be too big. Well, sure enough, it was! I had to order a smaller spindle that was over half the cost of the complete crankset!

Oh well, at least he is running the Profile spline drive sprocket now!

When I was building the bike and saw neighbor girl (my ex) walk by with group of girls I grab my bike and doing wheelie but I forget tight front wheel complete, the wheel fell off while I were doing wheelie I landed bare fork and threw me over the bars the girls saw whole thing and laugh at me.

For some stupid reason ( BEER ) I always put directional tires on wrong. Unfortunatly it is with much planning and taking my time. Funny thing is I never screw it up when I forget there directionals lol

Re: if it weren't for bad luck...

i hate installing new bb......
never fails i have to pound out bb after first install to cut 1 or 2 mm from the bb spacer.
its either the caliper is done; or the manufacturers loves to screw with me with tolerances.roll

Re: if it weren't for bad luck...

After being out of bikes for 20+ years the cranks are what got me.For my first build I had tioga task force cranks. So I wanted to run a tioga bb.set.So I searched it on ebay one came up.It was a great price.I ordered it.I got in the mail it was the wrong size. Now I know the diffrent bb. sizes. So that won't happen again.

I haven't put a seat on correctly so far this year. The damn guts are backwards. Again.

and there's the ever popular 'forgot the lower gyro plate when installing headset' move.
