Redline v-bar experts needed!!!
I need some help getting a positive ID on these bars. I got them on this 1979 Schwinn Competition Scrambler that had other upgraded parts as well. I believe they are Redline, but I've been looking for months, and I haven't seen another set without stamping?? They are chrome, but they have residue of a yellowed clear coat, but I think that it from something the prior owner did.
My concerns are: redline bars or not? approx what year? how rare?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

look like Proline bars going off the measurement.

The Redline bars section has a couple where you can see that oval sticker.

I'd expect they're early 80's merely due to that sticker. Not super rare.

They sure look like Kusuki made Redline v-bars (82-83). As noted in the link above, sometimes they came stamped and sometimes they did not.

Re: Redline v-bar experts needed!!!
thanks for the input so far guys. the 2 strips of knurling on mine is much narrower than any of the kusuki ones I've seen. I haven't tried removing the grips to see if there's anything stamped underneath them, the grips are in really good shape and I think I would destroy them if I tried to remove them. as far as I know, redline bars don't have any stamping in that area anyway....do they?

I have seen some redlines from about 79 that looked like that....Before they were stamped.

Re: Redline v-bar experts needed!!!
does anyone have a pic of kusuki bars with the same kind of knurling? all of the kusuki bars I've seen have wider knurling...
