Scored like a rock star today
Ok, more like a bar band drummer which ain't too bad. Ended up with 3 bikes jammed into a Grand Prix!
Found and oldschool walGoose at lunch. Has f/r bulldogs and overall not a bad looking bike. Taiwan s/n no loop, but for 20 leafs of cabbage I figured it was a score
Then, I was feeling frisky on my way home so I stopped at a place where I had been eyeballing a couple of bikes. One was a craptastic Schwinn Falcon. But it had Tuffs and decent bars (Hoffman Jumping) and cranks. Odd stem, with a Standard stem pad (I think?). I was looking to score it for $50....but then I asked about the other one. They definitely had parts traded between them, maybe to disguise what they were? No idea but it looked interesting.
It's a red frame w killer SE-type welds. I grabbed a tape and measured a 22" tt. SN is faint but reads K7I0014?? Nice sprocket and ody cranks (powerbites, other??bites?), Hoffman stem and some kick ass feeling bars (Hoffmans maybe?) D130 hoffman forks. I think the frame is AL, it's light as heck but I did not do a magnet test yet. I'm pretty rusty at midschool, so maybe you guys can name the frame?
Oh, and the front rim was from the Falcon
but the rear is a bulletproof strung to BFR ![]()
Dude made me a cash deal for both that I couldn't walk away from, but only if I took them with me. Luckily he threw in a couple wrenches, my daughters 16" was already in the trunk from our trip to the skatepark this weekend, and the 'Goose was crammed into the back seat. I normally carry a few tools for just such an occurence, but I didn't have em for some reason today.
I will again spout my affection for 90* swing rear doors on the last run of GP's. Very helpful when scoring for those who don't drive pickups or SUVs.
Pics to come, I was late to my kids skating party so here I am. But he was cool w it. ![]()
Post now edited...phone posting made it a garbled mess...sorry fellas. Pics loading now....I will move a few to the Name It section also.

I can not sit still. I have been tested for A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. and have neither. I don't need coffee, I just need a B.M.X. or surfboard to consistently ride and I'll be happy.

Re: Scored like a rock star today
more pics in "Name It!"
I don't know what half this shit it is
The goose was a no brainer, but all I knew on the others was that I wanted the Tuffs and a lot of the parts looked solid.
Then when I measure the TT, I knew I had to have it.

Re: Scored like a rock star today
Yeah they're the newer black widows. Not sure on the hubs. Not sure if its an se but the rear chain stay does.
I would say nice score. What's the length on the cranks.

Re: Scored like a rock star today
175mm, I'll try to get a pic of inside the arms
It looked SE to me too, although not at first. I bet I've looked at this bike 10x before today and never noticed it had SE lines.
Hubs are 1 cruddy schwinn from the Falcon and one Bulletproof.
If it is....well, I've been wanting a long SE lately so the score got even sweeter. Like, would have paid double.
Looks like my T1 project may be heading to a FS section near you all very soon.
