my newest rider, 87 Master

I tried selling this broken 87/8 Master here and on CL. with no luck. The seatmast was cut at the keyhole. I fixed the seatmast Friday afternoon, painted it yesterday and put it together last night and this morning with a bunch of stuff I had laying around.
parts list:
H8712xxxx F/F (does that make it an 88'?)
Group1 stem
1st Gen Gyro
Haro Freestyle bars
87' dated Nippon, 87' dated AD990
NOS Super 7X hoops laced to Haro Heffer hubs
NOS Kenda K55 20 x 2.125
KMC Chrome chain
older 175mm double pinch Flight 2 w/ RL 44T sprocket
Peregrine seatclamp
fluted layback
9/16 fusion pedals
DB Viscount seat
A'me tri
Curbdog universal levers
Maindrive 16t freewheel

RIDES AWESOME!!!! big_smile

Re: my newest rider, 87 Master

Very nice Master.  You must have ridden it so hard you broke down that tree lol

I do plan on having a well respected member here powder it the wrong dayglo pink color before I install some 87 PFT team model decals on it.
I will call it NOS refinished so I can charge the big bucks too.

Re: my newest rider, 87 Master

This bike came out awesome. The repair (to my eye at least) looked perfect. You need to put some pics of that up and show how nice the work done is.

Do I owe you feedback? Please remind me via PM and I'll take care of it.

Re: my newest rider, 87 Master

Thanks guys! smile

Jon, here's a pic I took Saturday night.  You can see the light reflecting from the toptube onto the seatmast. Perfect repair.  Black shows up EVERYTHING!

Thanks Matt! Thanks also for the deals on the stem, hoops and tires! smile The 92' is still just hanging, waiting for it's turn.

Re: my newest rider, 87 Master

Sweet! Curious, are you nervous about the mast breaking at all?

Not at all. There was good penetration with the weld and there's plenty of seatpost inserted. I actually bounced up and down on it with a Tioga internal braced layback before I painted it to give it a stress test.  No issues at all. I'm 230# wink
