Re: NOS mint GT oldschool mallet stem
Mallet stems with SR Japan stamped on it with the date are original mallet stems. The ones without the SR stamp on it are not real.
I can not sit still. I have been tested for A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. and have neither. I don't need coffee, I just need a B.M.X. or surfboard to consistently ride and I'll be happy.

Are you certain? I was under the impression that GT had made some (or had them made by someone other than SR) and they don't have the stamp. Something like 85/86 SR made them, then the following year someone else did. Not saying this one in the thread is legit, just that I thought there were legit GT mallets in the 80s without the SR stamp.
Do I owe you feedback? Please remind me via PM and I'll take care of it.

No, I'm not positive. I was told that only ones stamped SR are real. Like these two below. I don't thio the bolt is OG in the blue one I posted though.

and the black mallet in the back ground is SR stamped as well

Re: NOS mint GT oldschool mallet stem
GT had a different company make them in the early/mid 90's, no SR stamp and silver shaft. I dont remember them ever offering yellow though so that one may be fake BUT GT did sell mallets that were not SR made etc. so there not really "fake" but not the ones people want.

Re: NOS mint GT oldschool mallet stem
Fake ones still sell good here on the site...except you need to not list them as fake...just unknown. My wifes bike has a repop mallet and I paid like $40 for it here.
Ride it...Its not a trophy!

Hey PishPosh,
Thank you so much for the info, you mean its not against the rules if i list it for sale as "unknown"?
I'll give it a try then.
Thanks again

Yeah I agree. They did make them in the 90's still and not sr stamped. This one looks fake though for sure.
OP...I wouldn't try to sell that here.

Re: NOS mint GT oldschool mallet stem
It reminds me of my anno purple one I had bought for a pit bike because of the chrome shaft. However, if it was one of the newer ones like I had, someone has swapped the potts mod bolt for a race style, filled in the hole for the rotor/rear brake cable, and it looks like the yellow paint is not original. I am by no means an expert as I have only owned three mallets in my life. A mid 80s black race mallet, a lavender mid to late 80s freestyle mallet, and a anno purple mallet off Ebay from overseas.
