My first brand new bike in 25 years

The last time I got a brand new bike I was 6 years old, it was a black Kent BMX, the rest of my childhood rides where hand me downs, can't complain too much one of them was a blue GT Performer and since I've gotten back into bikes all my rides have been craigslist and garage sale finds

Last week I ordered a 2013 P.K. Ripper Retro, Monday it was on my door step and last night I finally had a chance to put it together, can't wait to take it for a ride, didn't ride it last night because I decided it wasn't a good idea leave my 7 month old son asleep and alone:P  I've ordered a set of SE urban camo pads to replace the white ones and they should be here today.

Re: My first brand new bike in 25 years

They have a 21" top tube, I haven't ridden it yet, just sat on it in my living room but it feels perfect for me, I'm 5'10". I'd grab one soon, from what I can tell from my research is that they are only making 250 of the retros for 2013.  I got mine from Dan's Comp, but I have seen that Planet BMX and several other places have them as well.

Re: My first brand new bike in 25 years

Tonight I got home from work and finally got to take the new toy for a ride, it's fast and handles good. This is my first new school 20" and I love the longer top tube, makes riding the 7 miles I went on it a dream. I may have just been drawn over to the dark side...... New school....... Oh the horrors......
